Zara is the Managing Partner & Founder of Splash which she set up in 1999. Splash has taught more than 4000 people to swim in Devon since it began, along with many school lessons too!

Zara has been teaching for 20+ years and still loves seeing her pupils swim for the first time, or seeing them refine their swimming strokes and progress with their water skills. Zara teaches all ages and all abilities and has always enjoyed the water and sports from a young age. A Modern Pentathlete who competed to National Level winning a Team Gold Medal at the National Biathlon in 1986. Inspired & coached by GB swimming coach Paddy Garrett. Zara has a passion for excellence and wherever possible to see swimmers become happy, confident & capable efficient swimmers.
When not teaching or running the Splash Office, Zara is also a foster parent and loves to spend time with her extended family & friends or help out with Church activities.
Simon is the Managing Partner of Splash, he has helped with the running of Splash since 1999 and has been teaching since 2016

Simon is also a foster parent and enjoys seeing children reach their full potential. With a love of working with children in many voluntary and paid roles over the years and a fun attitude, he is someone who is able to engage and pass on his enjoyment of the water to those he works with.
When not working he enjoys being creative and can often be found building or renovating something at home. When he gets the chance, he is a bit of a thrill seeker, so has been known to bungee jump, sky dive or abseil for charity.
Becky has been teaching for Splash since September 2014 and has been teaching swimming since April 2013. Becky also is part of the Splash Administration Team.

Becky teaches all ages from babies to adults, all abilities. Becky comes from a line of swimming teachers, her Mum is a swimming teacher, as was her Grandmother, so it’s become a family tradition! Becky was part of a local swimming club growing up, which fuelled her interest in swimming techniques and she likes to combine it with developing confidence, enabling her swimmers to happily pursue and enjoy many water activities in the future.
Her biggest achievement to date is receiving a 2:1 BA Hons degree for Creative Writing. When Becky’s not teaching she likes to do anything creative, whether it’s writing, painting, baking or knitting! She also loves to swim in the sea when it’s warmer and snowboard whenever she gets the chance.
Malcolm started teaching for Splash in 2010 and has been teaching and coaching for 20 + years.

Malcolm teaches and coaches children that can swim from Goldfish through to Dolphins. He has a great eye for detail and is passionate about seeing swimmers develop excellent swimming techniques and skills.
When Malcolm is not teaching he is a church warden. He enjoys jogging, cycling and walking his dogs with his family too.
Nikki has been teaching for Splash since February 2007 and has been teaching swimming since September 2005.

Nikki teaches all ages from babies through to adults at all levels, she particularly loves teaching non-swimmers or early stages. Her love & inspiration for teaching swimming comes from seeing someone who is scared and lacking confidence, then transformed to a relaxed swimmer who is enjoying the water. Nikki has always loved the water and has a passion to pass this on to others.
When she’s not teaching she likes to travel, her bucket list just keeps getting bigger!
Rowena started working for Splash in July 2016 and has been teaching swimming since 2007.

Rowena has been swimming from the age of 8 and has competed at County, Regional and World Master events and feels she can pass her knowledge and passion of swimming onto others. Rowena is able to teach all ages and abilities, she enjoys seeing swimmers progress and overcome the fears they have with water to reach their potential.
When Rowena is not teaching swimming, she loves doing her house up and exploring new places with her family.
Samson started working for Splash since September 2016 and has been teaching swimming since 2015.

Samson teaches a range of ages from 3 years to adults. He has always been a keen swimmer from a young age as well as participating in water activities. Before relocating to the UK with his wife, Samson taught in an international British primary school in Beijing, China. Samson has a passion for teaching non-swimmers and young children because it is so rewarding to see the progress that can be made over a series of lessons. His ethos is that learning should be fun and his teaching takes account of different learning styles, ensuring that learners feel comfortable and safe in the water.
In his spare time, Samson likes to travel abroad and make the most of opportunities to take part in sea swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and skiing. He is trained in photography including underwater shoots and was previously a professional trumpet player in the Chinese military.
Nicky has been teaching for Splash since March 2019 and has been teaching for 20+ years
Relevant qualifications: ASA Level 2 Swimming teacher adult and child. ASA aquafit, ASA deep water aquafit. RLSS rescue test for teachers. ASA Development programme for starts, turns and breastroke.
Nicky has recently returned from 11 years of life and working as a swim teacher in Australia, she is very pleased to be back working with Zara and Splash Swim. As a competitive swimmer, Nicky’s seamless transition into swim teaching has encouraged pupils of all levels to flourish and several of her pupils have represented at National levels, lifeguards & some are even swim teachers too. Nicky enjoys teaching all levels and still gets a buzz from seeing pupils learn to swim for the first time.
Nicky enjoys being a mother to a 9 year old son when not teaching and she and her husband enjoy renovating their Grade 2 listed house, which takes up the majority of her spare time.
Rebecca started working for Splash in July 2019 and has been teaching swimming since 2000.

Rebecca taught in South Africa for 10 years before moving to the UK. She has continued teaching all levels from adult and child to national swimmers. She loves working with all abilities, seeing the fun the parent and child have together, the development in ability and confidence in both swimmer, to then seeing the swimmer become independent and having a love for the water.
In her spare time, Rebecca trains and races in Kayak Marathons, Oceanski, Surf Lifesaving and Swimming. She enjoys being outdoors on the beach, in or on the water, going for long walks in the countryside and being with friends.
Louise previously worked for Splash for seven years and recently returned to Splash in March 2019 and has been teaching since 2007

Having always enjoyed swimming and water-based activities, Louise decided to become a swimming teacher to help others find a confidence and, hopefully, a passion for an important, healthy and fun life-skill that she feels should be accessible to all ages and abilities.
Louise teaches babies through to adults and really enjoys seeing swimmers progress and gain their water confidence.
Caroline has been a voluntary swimming teacher for over 20 years.

Caroline has worked with children for all of her career, from babies up to year 11 students. Caroline was part of a local swimming club growing up, where her mother was a teacher. This inspired her to train as a swimming teacher and to pass her passion for swimming on to the people that she teaches. She has even encouraged her children to become swimming teachers and lifeguards.
When Caroline is not working she loves reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Rachel has been teaching for Splash since December 2018 and has been teaching swimming since 2011.

Rachel has been swimming from a young age and swam at regional level in New Zealand.
Rachel teaches all ages and abilities and particularly enjoys working with younger children who are new to the water. Rachel believes swimming is an important skill to learn especially as she grew up living close to the water, this is where her passion for all things to do with water began and she particularly enjoys water skiing and snorkelling.
In her spare time Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and growing vegetables in her garden.
Tom has been teaching for Splash since December 2018 and has had teaching experience since 2016.

Tom used to compete at County level for Water Polo for under 17’s. He swam for a local club for 10 years, competing in galas across the UK. Tom helped coach the women’s water polo team at University in 2017. Tom has always loved swimming from an early age, it has always been his main sporting passion. He likes to incorporate fun in all aspects of learning and try to make swimming as enjoyable as possible for everyone involved! He enjoys teaching all ages, groups and abilities.
His hobbies include going to the cinema, playing airsoft, city travelling, badminton and water polo for his local team.
